Come join me "upstairs" from the Studio, a place to relax and talk with friends. Here you'll find clips of my stuff, woolgathering about the animals in the family, news about shows and events and links to other sites that I find too good not to mention. Pull up a cushion and have some cake( there should always be cake) and tea, and lets discuss the amazing world of Art in it's many forms!

Poetic thought

Windy Nights
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Whenever the moon and stars are set,
Whenever the wind is high,
All night long in the dark and wet,
A man goes riding by.
Late in the night when the fires are out,
Why does he gallop and gallop about?

Whenever the trees are crying aloud,
And ships are tossed at sea,
By, on the highway, low and loud,
By at the gallop goes he.
By at the gallop he goes, and then
By he comes back at the gallop again.

New Visitor in the Garden

I spent some time in the garden yesterday, painted my birdhouse to match my old wooden bench and put a third coat of paint on the cellar door, even managed to put in a small row of red oak lettuce that had been patiently waiting in pots.
So I shouldn't have been surprised to find this little one when I went out with my coffee this morning...

He was nibbling my silver lamium but I think the Rabbit grapevine has been busy spreading the news that there are lettuces...

He is just the right age to be one of the children of a very large Mama bunny that I almost mowed down with a weedwacker as she hid in the deep grass a month ago. She did not seem inclined to move and so that is why the grass on one side of the yard was three feet high for a few weeks.
